Join Seth Holmes of Holmes Watercolors for a painting class where you’ll learn tips and techniques to paint your very own original 9x12” watercolor painting, whether you have experience or not. What to expect: Plenty of students have told me they ‘couldn’t even draw a stick figure’ yet ended up creating a unique painting they were genuinely pleased with in a class—and you can too—I guarantee it! I’ll give you the tools to view things in a new perspective and teach you techniques that will help you capture the essence of an image through your own lens. My goal isn’t to help you create something ‘perfect’, it’s to equip you to create something that uniquely reflects you. My aim is to equip students with confidence and tools so you can apply what you learn in class at home! Artist Bio: Seth Holmes is a Frederick-born artist who has been sketching and doodling for as long as he can recall. Having a passion for filmmaking, he moved to L.A. in 2015 to get into the film industry. Seth spent several years out West before eventually returning to the East Coast—but not before a friend had introduced him to watercolors. Shortly after moving back East in 2020 Seth discovered the quaint town of Waynesboro, PA. Enamored of its history, small town charm, and ubiquitous Victorian buildings he was inspired to create ‘architectural caricatures’ in a style that reflects the sense of wonder and whimsy he sees in the world. Seth has had his art displayed in local galleries and won prizes in several art competitions including the grand prize for his entry in the 2021 ‘Holidays in Historic Frederick’ art competition. Early in 2024 he opened a shop located at 8 East Main Street, Waynesboro, PA where he sells original paintings, prints, stickers, apparel, and hosts classes.
